Zoho, a leading technology company, has launched Cliq Rooms, a collaborative solution for its Cliq communication platform. The announcement was made during the Zoholic annual user conference held in Bengaluru. With this new feature, Zoho aims to enhance the collaborative capabilities of Cliq and compete with popular platforms like Slack and Microsoft Teams.
Sridhar Vembu, CEO and co-founder of Zoho Corp revealed that Zoho Cliq Rooms can work with any Android TV available in the market. The company is also collaborating with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners to offer customized solutions for users. Vembu further stated that Cliq has witnessed a significant growth of 37% in India and a 30% increase in user migration from platforms like MS Teams and Slack. He added that smart room technology is usually expensive, but Cliq Rooms aims to make it accessible to businesses of all sizes.
The platform can accommodate up to 1,000 active participants, support 12,000 views for live events, and enable 30,000 active participants in a channel. Additionally, it can handle up to 100,000 employees within an organization. Zoho Cliq Rooms also allows users to connect their smartphones as audio/video devices. The platform utilizes Zia, Zoho’s in-house AI technology, to set up reminders, summarize meetings, and act as a writing assistant for proofreading and crafting messages within Cliq.
Apart from the conferencing capabilities, Cliq also introduces new features such as low-code extensibility, allowing programmers to build and run custom apps within the platform with up to 1 million rows of code. This custom database feature enables users to run apps without the need for an external server. The platform also offers live translation for various Indian languages and a customizable user interface with support for languages like Hindi, Kannada, and Tamil.
Zoho Cliq is available in a free edition, with an unlimited plan starting at Rs 36/user/month. The new features, including Cliq Rooms, will be available from November onwards as part of the enterprise edition, priced at Rs 200/user/month. With these advancements, Zoho aims to provide businesses with a comprehensive and efficient collaborative platform that meets their communication and conferencing needs.
