Stromer and Desiknio Team Up to Bring Spanish Handcrafted Ebikes to the US Market

Stromer, a leading Swiss speed pedelec manufacturer, has partnered with premium Spanish bike maker Desiknio to introduce their X20 Pinion commuter and X20 Gravel ebikes to the US market. This collaboration marks the first time Desiknio’s handcrafted ebikes will be available to riders in North America.

Matti Rajakylä, representative of Stromer, expressed excitement about the launch of Desiknio in the US, stating that their lightweight options perfectly complement Stromer’s high-powered ebike portfolio. Desiknio’s attention to detail and precision craftsmanship aligns with Stromer’s commitment to quality. The bikes have received glowing reviews from test riders at events throughout the year, and the US market eagerly awaits their arrival.

The first ebike in the series is the X20 Pinion Smart.Shift Class 1 urban commuter. It features a 250-W Mahle hub motor that delivers 55 Nm (40.5 lb.ft) of torque and pedal-assistance up to 20 mph (32 km/h). The ebike is equipped with a 236-Wh downtube battery, providing a per-charge range of 31 to 62 miles (50 – 100 km). An optional range extender is available to double the battery capacity. The X20 Pinion utilizes Gates Carbon Drive CDX and Pinion C1.9XR transmission technology, offering riders a range of nine gears. The companion mobile app allows for customization of riding preferences. The ebike’s 6061 aluminum frame is available with either a “low-slung top tube” for improved accessibility or a standard step-over design. Additionally, riders can opt for a carbon-fiber fork if desired. The X20 Pinion weighs 30.1 lb (14 kg) and is expected to be available in the US by the end of this year or early next year, with a suggested retail price of US$5,995.

The second ebike in the Desiknio series is the X20 Gravel model. This ebike features a handcrafted carbon monocoque frame, a Ritchey Ergo Comp drop handlebar, a Brooks C13 Carved saddle, DSK wheels with Pirelli Black 45 tires, and Campagnolo EKAR brakes. Like the X20 Pinion, it is equipped with a 250-W Mahle hub motor and a 62-mile downtube battery with the option to extend. However, the X20 Gravel utilizes a Shimano GRX 600 gearset or Campagnolo EKAR 13S instead of the Pinion transmission. The X20 Gravel weighs 26.5 lb (12 kg) and will soon be available for purchase in the US through Stromer, with prices starting at $5,995.

The partnership between Stromer and Desiknio brings together two industry leaders to provide US riders with high-quality, handcrafted ebike options. With their commitment to precision and innovation, the companies aim to enhance the riding experience and meet the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions in the US market.
